What Causes Fatigue With Muscle And Joint Aches While On Crestor 20mg?

Been taking Crestor 20 mg for 5 months - joints & muscle aches - sleep problems - tried very hard to take this med - Dr wants CHOL to be 70 now 180 - Hdl is 60.0 , LDL is 107 now . my question is - would krill oil lower my Chol & no side effects. Not able to tolerate any statin meds - less side effects using lovastatin but didn t lower Cholesterol enough - Thanks

Hello Dear. Muscle ache is one of the side effects of statins. Generally statins are started at low dose of 10 mg. Side effects of crestor include muscle cramps or spasms, muscle pain, stiffness, tenderness, wasting, or weakness
unusual tiredness or weakness. Kindly discuss with your doctor if other lipid lowering agents like cholestyramine, cholestipol, gemfibrozil, benzafibrate, nicotinic acid etc can be used which doesnt have muscle pain as side effect.
