What Causes Fatty Growth On The Forehead? Which Doctor Should I Consult?
Yes , issue is about haveing a fatty growth removed on my foreheard non cancer I am told .it is the size of a quarter and sit just above my right temple . Does not hurt but just looks bad . Question what is the risk of have this taken off and shoul I see a plastic sergon or a dermtalogist ?
Hello and welcome to HCM, A painless non-fatty swelling on the forehead suggests presence of a lipoma. Lipoma is a benign fat containing tumor arising from adipose tissue of the forehead. Surgery is the treatment of choice for lipoma. However, whether the lesion is lipoma or not has to be confirmed by aspiration cytology. Aspiration cytology will confirm the nature of the lesion. In case of lipoma, surgical excision will be curative. You can consult a surgeon for the surgery. If there is possibility of developing scar tissue, you can consult a plastic surgeon.
