Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain you are suffering from Gastroesophageal reflux due to
hyperacidity and it is causing the feeling of choking as the acid reflux into the oesophagus and throat and can lead to inflammation in the throat and can cause a choking sensation..
Only intake of TUMS which contains
calcium carbonate and is an antacid is not enough and you need to take
proton pump inhibitors like
Pantoprazole or Omeprazole..
Take antacid like
Milk of magnesia half an hour before meals..
Do warm saline gargles and take throat lozenges as it will help in soothing the throat..
Avoid spicy,and acidic foods..
Cut down on alcohol[if you take],tea and coffee and carbonated drinks..
Drink plenty of water preferably cool as it helps in dilution of acid and maintain hydration..
Take meals atleast 2 hours before you sleep..
Take a nutritious and easily digestable diet..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
