What Causes Feeling Of Something Stuck In Throat While Swallowing?
I have a couple of questions. First question is my son was eating dinner and says that some food feels like it's stuck in his throat but he's breathing ok. He's been drinking fluids to try and dislodge it but he says it's not helping. Do I need to bring him to the ER to have it checked out or wait and see if if it dislodges. Second question is I have a small knot in my wrist that's bothering me and affecting my writing and driving. Should I wait to see my Dr or come in and have it checked out
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of feeling of something stuck in throat while swallowing. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are due to acid reflux . In this condition the sphincter of esophagus do not function well and allow the acidic content to come upward and irritate the lining of esophagus and throat. Knot in wrist seems to be due to collection of fatty tissue in that area. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult Gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may order x-ray of upper digestive system , ambulatory acidity test and endoscopy of esophagus. Doctor may prescribe ranitidine and omeprazole. For now avoid eating acidic , spicy and heavy food , eat light and frequent meals and take antacid after every meal .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
