Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good evening... I have had a feeling in my throat for a number of weeks that I can only describe as feeling swollen. I have no pain but just this very uncomfortable feeling. It is sometimes hard to swallow and there is usually what feels like a large amount of phlegm stuck in the back of my throat in the morning upon awakening. No fever, but great tiredness.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of feeling of swelling in the throat which could be due to infection of the tonsil or pharynx, blockage of sinuses, respiratory tract infection and due to ulcer over tonsils.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles. You should take green tea on daily basis in morning. Take nasal sprays on daily basis as it will open up sinuses and blood will not be discharged. Take antibiotics along with anti-inflammatory medications. Apply humidifiers in room. Visit pulmonologist/ ENT specialist once and get it examined if symptoms keeps on persisting. Get complete examination of blood count along with swab and sputum test. Start treatment after proper prescription.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
