What Causes Fever Along With A Rash On The Chest And Stomach?

My 28 year old daughter has had a fever of 101.9 and swollen glands for two days. She now has a rash that started on her chest and is spreading quickly to her stomach, arms and back. She has been taking ibuprofen and has not taken her temp today. What could this be and should she go to urgent care?

Hello,

It is difficult to answer without seeing the rash but I feel it could be a viral infection as many of the viral infections present with fever and rash.

Since the rash is spreading rapidly I do not see any reason to delay the appointment with the doctor.
