What Causes Fever And Fatigue Along With Vaginal Spotting?

I m sorry to bother you... I m 50 years old and have had a fever 100.6 or so since Monday. Have felt REALLY tired and our of sorts. I thought I was going to get my period day 28 is today... yesterday I had some spotting so figured I was getting my period. This morning there was more blood as I went to the bathroom and figured... I was getting my period and put in a tampon. But after a few hours... I had hardly bled through a tampon. Seemed strange, but being 50 thought... sometimes there are irregularities. I went to the doctor today because I still wasn t feeling great and they didn t find anything abnormal. Did a urine sample (no urinary or bladder infection) but sent out for more evaluation to see if bacteria was to grow. I tried to give a blood test, but they only got a 1/2 vile. Stuck me 3 times and nothing. Was going back in the morning to try more blood work... BUT... .about an hour ago I was sitting on the couch feeling horrible and felt what seemed like water breaking from my vagina... I made it to the bathroom and had gushed semi-clear liquid that contained some pinkish blotting and extremely awful smell. While it s not gushing anymore... it s still leaking, clear as well as strange dots of pink and beige... and strong odor. My fever seems to have broken... and I feel a little better... but this is VERY strange. Any ideas as to what to do... if anything tonight? I will make an appointment at my Gynocologist tomorrow but in the meantime find this a little scary.

I understand your concern.

Fever,vaginal discharge with offensive smell denotes vaginal infection/endometritis.

It is necessary to do vaginal swab microcopy and culture to detect the causative organism.
It can be taken care of by an antibiotic course like cipro/azithro for 7-10 days.
Also vaginal dryness around menopausal age may lead to vaginal infection.Local estrogen cream application will reduce the symptoms.

Maintain regular genital genital hygiene by soap and water.
Take anti pyretic tab paracetamol for fever as and when needed.
Wait for your gynaecologist appointment till next day and discuss all these with her/him.
