What Causes Fever And Itchy Rash In A 14 Year Old Boy?
Hello. My 14 y/o son had a fever around 101 for a couple of days that was able to be brought down with Ibuprohen. Now for the last 3 days he has had a rash that comes and goes. It is itchy and is not raised and not individual bumps, but more blotcy and red. Any ideas what this could be and if he might be contagious? Fever broke about the time the rash appeared.

It could be a viral infection. However, to rule out possible complications, please consult with his pediatrician as soon as possible. Keep well hydrated. Do monitor his temperature, and manage to keep it as normal as you can.
