What Causes Fever And Pain In Shoulder And Neck Inspite Of Taking Ibuprofen?

My name is Kelly. I have had a fever for the past 4 days that gets no higher than 101.1. My neck and shoulder ache while I have the fever. I take to Ibprophine and the fever subsides and I feel normal again for about 6-8 hours. I realize that what I m telling you does not give you much to work with. Thanks

Hello,
Thanks for the concern. You have fever, pain in shoulder and neck and you have taken ibuprofen but still you have pain in both shoulder and neck.
Your pain in shoulder and neck may be due to muscle stiffness due to any cause. For that you should take painkillers with muscle relaxants which will help you. You can also do hot compresses on both shoulder and neck, also you can use analgesic cream. But still if your pain persist than you have to do x-ray of shoulder joint.
So consult your treating orthopaedic surgeon and start treatment accordingly. Hope this might help you. Take care
