Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello my 13 year old son has had a fever all of today coming and going at 37 to 39 and I have been giving him paracetomol 500mg every 4 hours roughly. I have just looked in this mouth and I have seen that his tonsils have white spots on them. This is more than just a simple fever, what should I do?
As per your query your son have symptoms of fever and white spots on the tonsils which could be tonsil stone that is tonsiliths which is formed when this trapped debris hardens, or calcifies. It could be due to fopr, ation of infection and pus in tonsils leading to fever.
Need not to worry. I would suggest to mainatin complete hygiene and give paracetamolas needed to remove fever. You should consult pediatrician once for proper examination. Doctor may remove the stones and prescribe antibiotics. For now do warm saline gargles. Mainatin complete oral hygiene of child and avoid intake of cold beverages. Avoid intake of sharp and spicy food.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
