What Causes Fever, Chills And Cough When Diagnosed With Influenza?

I have had influenza for 7 days, with muscle aches, fever and chills. I have developed a cough and loud cracklings bubbling sounds when I exhale, that continue when I stop breathing out. If I open my mouth it sounds like I have pop rocks in my mouth. Should I be concerned about pneumonia?
