What Causes Fever, Chills And Loss Of Appetite Along With Night Sweats?

Hello Doctor, I have had several bouts of this for the past several years. This year it has happened twice and it s only June. My family doctor treated me for the flu, but I don t think it s the flu. My symptoms are fever, chills, weakness, loss of appitite, unable to sleep, night sweats, coughing, and general misery for periods of three to five days. I get a flu shot every year since I m 70 years of age.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest you to do a blood count to see if you have abnormal level of white cells. Also make an X-ray of the chest and abdominal ultrasound. There are many diseases that can cause so many symptoms. If you do these examinations listed above would be easy the find the cause.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
