What Causes Fever, Dry Cough, Headache And Loss Of Appetite?

I have been running a fever for over 3 months now, normal or even sub normal in the a.m. but as high as 100 degrees in the evening EVERY evening. I also have a dry cough and occasional headaches I suspect are unrelated. Very little appetite. I am 71 yrs. old & to the best of my knowledge have not been exposed to anyone else with these symptoms but I am a veteran & use the VA for all m y health care.

Hello, THe symptoms mentioned are suggestive of possible pulmonary tuberculosis. It is better to get a detailed investigation done like sputum test, chest X ray and blood test (CBC). At your age it is better to get the whole examination done early. If anything is detected, better to initiate appropriate treatment. Thanks.
