Hello,
Thankyou for asking your queation at health caremagic.
If a patient comes to me with these symptoms I would want a more detailed history first
Pattern of fever
pattern of joint pain and when did it start? How long does the pain last
when did the
cough with sputum begin?Any blood in sputum
History of swollen lymph glands in the body
Any vision changes, red or watery eye
Any change in bowel habits/Urinary symptoms
Any similar history in past and past medical history
History of any infections in the past.
Any similar history in family
Places visited recently, history of camping , history of tick bite (
lyme disease can present with joint pain, fever and tiredness)
All these questions are looking for the possibility of inflammatory disorders.
Since you are complaining of weight loss, joint pain ,tiredness , cough I am encouraging possibility of inflammatory disorders (especially
Sarcoidosis)
We also need more investigations done like
Complete Blood count, hemoglobin
ESR , CRP
Rheumatoid Factor, ACCP, ANA
Chest X ray
Urine analysis,Urine culture
Renal function test
And more investigations may also be warranted depending on your deatailed history and results of initial investigations.
Meanwhile there are certain life style changes that can help you with your symptoms and energy level
Diet rich in fruits and vegetables
Making sure to get enough sleep
Even though it is difficult, try doing mild exercise like slow walking everyday
Ibuprofen 600mg twice daily (if not allergic to ) for pain
I recommend that you consult your
primary care physician or
rheumatologist as soon as possible to get the work up done.
Hope I was able to answer your question.
Regards,
Lekshmi
