What Causes Fever, Sore Throat, Headache And A Blister Inside The Mouth?

I got sick running a temp,body aches,sore throat,headaches and a couple days later I got a rash on my mouth I treated it with Chapstick it will not go away it s been a week and a half. It itches was swollen one blister inside my mouth. My dr said hand foot and mouth disease but I m not so sure

I can understand your concern. If you have got fever due to viral infection, sore throat, headache etc. are symptoms associated with it. In addition, a rash inside the mouth can also appear due to viral infection.

Usually, viral infections are not treated with medicines. Only supportive treatment is given based on the symptoms. The body's immunity takes over the control and the symptoms and infection resolve in a week's time. The rash will also disappear along with the fever and sore throat.

For supportive treatment, you can apply local Benzocaine gel (Mucopain) over the rash, 3-4 times a day. If the rash is burning during eating, applying this gel before meals will numb the area for some time and consuming food will be easy. You can take analgesic like Acetaminophen 500 mg up to thrice a day for fever, headache and body ache while use over the counter lozenges for the sore throat. Warm salt water gargles will also help the throat.
