What Causes Fever, Sore Throat, Stomach Pain And Swollen Gums?
I ve had a fever for 5 days now ranging from 100-102.5. Body aches, sore throat, irritated and swollen gums, headache, stomach pain and now constipated. Flu and strep were negative. Put on antibiotics on 4th day of fever that was 102.5. I tried a mineral oil enema but only a few tiny pieces of fecal matter came out. Any suggestions?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sore fever, sore throat, stomach pain and swollen gums which seems to be due to streptococcal infection and it could be due to excessive acid production leading to acid reflex. Need not to worry.
Avoid cold carbonated beverages. Avoid oily and sharp food. Drink plenty of fluids. Avoid laying immediately after having food. I would suggest you to maintain proper oral hygiene and do warm saline gargles. You should take antibiotic Amoxicillin for 5 days. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get routine blood tests and throat swab test done and start treatment after proper diagnosis.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
