What Causes Fever, Swollen Glands And Fatigue While Treating An URI?

My daughter was seen on Monday for swollen glands, fever, etc. She was diagnosed with URI and given antibiotics. She has been taking them since Monday but her fever is higher, continued swollen glands, fatigue, rapid heartbeat, etc. She was seen again today and had blood drawn, which showed elevated white cells and protein. This is the second time in 4 months that she has had this. Could this be something more than a URI?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to health care magic

Your child wbc count is high and URTI symptoms present

Here acute bacterial infection is present for which suitable antibiotic given...
Sputum or throat swab culture done to choose antibiotic course...

More water and less fried food taken

Fruits taken more

Here chest x ray done to rule out consolidation like that in pneumonia

Auscultation also done as first best primary work up which guides further for investigation

Rapid heart beat can occur in fever like condition where metabolic rate high

Consult physician for examination and accordingly work up
