My 8 YR OLD HAD A SLIGHT FEVER AND THEN DEVELOPED TINY BUMPS IN A RASH LIKE PATTERN OVER HER BODY. YESTERDAY. HER FEVRR WAS ELIMINATED WITH ADVIL BUT THE BUMPS PERSIST AND BENEDRYL HAD NO EFFECT SHE IS SLEEPING NOW BUT HAS NOTICEABLE SNORING KIK SNORING LIKE CONGESTION SYMPTOMS. ARE THESE LIKELYRE!ATED?
1. Viral infection [cold/flu] is/are the most important cause of hives all over the body but other causes to exclude is/are any drug/food reaction so take an opinion of a Child specialist to exclude the possibilities since hives can take a week or month to clear after the illness begins .
2. As antihistamine [benadryl] has no effect remember that hives are usually harmless so please exclude viral infection like roseola/ measles [which are common in this age group] and manage accordingly.
