What Causes Fever With Swollen Tongue?
Hello, The symptoms are typical of pharyngitis or tonsillitis. The infection might have extended to the posterior part of the tongue as well. Consult a general practitioner and start a short course of antibiotics preferably amoxiclav. Do warm saline gargles for symptomatic relief. You can also try over the counter available drugs like paracetamol for fever. If symptoms persist better to consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated. If there is diagnostic confusion. a throat swab may be needed. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
