What Causes Fever,vomiting And Diarrhea Inspite Of Giving Ibuprofen?

Hello Dr.My 11 year old son has a fever since yesterday . Even with ibuprofen it hasn t came under 100 degrees. He had a bout of vomiting around 12:30 last night and diahhrea this afternoon. throat feels funny but not hurting according to him. I noticed when I picked him up after school nurse called me that his face appeared flushed, but that redness has disappeared . Do I need to take him to the dr?

Hi,
It seems that he might be having acute gastro-enteritis producing vomiting, loose motions and fever.
Give him plenty of water and keep him well hydrated so that he will not have dehydration and effect of ibuprofen will be there to control his fever as well.
Give anti-emetic and anti-diarrhea medicine.
give him curd, rice and buttermilk.
If there are symptoms of dehydration then take him to ER.
Ok and take care.
