Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a fishy vaginal odor...usually after periods it begins. Sometimes it can go away. Recently had a check up and the cultures for BV was negative. I have fibroids, no dicharge, no pain, nothing other than the smell after sex. What could be the cause?
It is mostly suggestive of vaginal fungal infection for which you can take some antibiotic preferably cefadroxyl or doxy after an expert opinion along with avil or cetrizine for itching. You can take fole 150 mg or use clingen-forte vaginal pessary to put into the vagina once daily for at-least 5 days. Maintain the hygiene of private part by regular washing or use v-wash vaginal gel.
