What Causes Flaky And Dry Skin On The Waist Line And Legs?
Hi. I m from Canada and I recently travelled to Washington USA. while in Washington I noticed dry and peeling skin in my underwear lines on my waist and legs. And now it s extremely dry. A little bit itchy. The skin is flaking and peeling off. And I m concerned as to what it could be.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of flaky and dry skin on the waistline and legs which seems to be due to contact dermatitis due to fungal infection and could be due to an allergic reaction as well. I would suggest you to
- Keep your skin clean and dry and protect it from moisture trapping.
- Apply only petroleum jelly and take vitamin B complex daily.
- Betnovate cream mixed with moisturizer for local application is a good solution.
- Wear cotton trousers to avoid frictional heat.
If the condition doesn't get well then consult a dermatologist for proper examination. The doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants along with anti-inflammatory and corticosteroid ointment. The doctor may order a certain test like a blood test, allergy test and take history to rule out the exact cause.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
