What Causes Flaky Combination Skin With Break Outs Around Mouth?

Hello, My name is Pauline. My skin is the rather dry combination skin akkording to clinique experts I have Multiple Questions : My skin is always flaky, even in my sometimes rather oily t-zone, is that a sign of dryness? My skin tends to breakout mostly in the area around my mouth, do you know any possible reason for that? I would not necessarily describe my skin as acne prone because my breakouts are rather minimal, even though they tend to appear more than 2-3 times. is it necessary or even just senseful to treat my scin with products especially for acne prone skin ? please excuse my rather poor english, I am just 17 years old and from germany

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain inflammation and breakouts around the mouth can be either acne or in case if it is in the form of small bumps and rashes it can also be due to Perioral Dermatitis..
So my suggestion will be not to use any medicated product for acne until you get a confirmed diagnosis from a Dermatologist..
In case if it is due to acne he will advise you facewash containing Salicylic acid, gels containing benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin, cool compresses, and retinoids like Adapelene..

In case if it ie Perioral dermatitis oral antibiotics like erythromycin or doxycycline and topical gels containing Erythromycin and Retinoids can be applied..
