Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Flaky Labia While Suffering From Yeast Infection?
I have scaley things on my labia minora. It looks like I have 2 bigger pimples (flesh colored) under my vulva, and then a strip of scales going up my labia minora in 2 strips, 1 on each side. I m on day 5 of monistat 7 for a yeast infection, and I m scared and don t know what to do.
From your history, I understood that you are already on medication for yeast infection. The most common side effect of monistat itself are itching, peeling, dry skin, vaginal burning or irritation after insertion of tablet.
So in your case it could be due to monistat or low estrogen levels. I advice you to, stop monistat & use topical estrogen, lubricants & also to maintain personal hygiene.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.
Regards, Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician.
