What Causes Flashing Of Lights In Left Eye?

Yesterday and today I have had an episode of flashing lights in my left eye. The lights are only on the outside and bottom of the eye. I wonder if that could be a problem. I have had cataract surgery(2007) and macular hole surgery (2010) without any problems but this worries me. As I write this the flashing has ceased. Should I have my eye doctor check this out even though I saw her last week and she saw no problems?

Hopefully it will not cause any problem but as your physician i will advice you to consult an ophthalmologist to rulr out any vitreous damage.
