I am 31 years old with severe chest pain nausea and arm tightness. I went to the er and they said that nothing was wrong that I would just need to see a cardiologist because T-waves on my ekg were flattened. I am still in pain off and on and when the tightness/pain comes on I start to get nauseated to the point I don't even want to eat anything. I am afraid of a heart attack coming soon if I cannot get this taken care of. Could you explain to me why my T-waves would be flattened and one on lead 3 I believe was inverted.
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. T wave flattening on ECG along with chest pain should always be evaluated for coronary artery disease (CAD). So immediately consult Cardiologist and get done 2d echo, stress test (trade mill test) and troponin I levels. If all these are normal then no need to worry for heart diseases. But if any of these is showing abnormality then you will need coronary angiography. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
