Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Im an RN first assistant in surgery. I have recently become a diver. Yesterday I began to notice tiny flashes of light in my left eye peripherally. It went away after a few min but has recently returned. I am 56, healthy, normal weight, slightly elevated B/P occasionally.
The appearance of flashes of light in front of eyes could be due to retinal detachment. However, I suggest you consult your ophthalmologist at the earliest for clinical assessment and thus treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shailja Puri , Pathologist and Microbiologist
