What Causes Floating Images And Flashy Lights In The Eyes?
HI, I'm looking for a family doctor (new resident of Victoria / BC MSP is already valid as of Jan 1 2016) as I need to have my eyes checked for floating images and flashing lights (seen in the periphery of both eyes). Can I consult with an optha specialist directly? What could be causing this and how soon should I have it checked? Thank you.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have floating images and flashy lights in the eyes. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like age related eye changes , inflammation in the back of the eye , bleeding or retinal tears . I would suggest you to consult ophthalmologist for proper examination . Doctor may conduct a complete eye exam including eye dilation to better see the back of your eyes. Ophthalmologist aims a special laser at the floaters in the vitreous, which may break them up and make them less noticeable. Doctor may also recommend surgery . In some case the condition resolve with time without any treatment by its own .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
