What Causes Fluctuating Fever In A Child Along With Headaches?
Hi Last Sunday my son 7 yrs old was out of sorts come Sunday night his temp rose to 38.8 and all night it was fluctuating. He had a runny nose, sick stomach, headache and couldn't taste his drinks so wasn't keen on drinking. I rang my doc who said a virus was going around to just keep him hydrated and in out of the cold. He seemed a lot better by Wednesday but third morning it was back to the same thing as Sunday . Today he is sleepy all the time, cough that sounds chesty now, no appetite ???? Should I take him to my mid doc as I am concerned due to bad swine flu cases in the country right now.
Hi, It seems that he might be having viral infection and remains for some time. But seeing severity of symptoms it requires evaluation of his case to rule out bacterial infection which might lead to severe lower respiratory tract infection and even pneumonia. Consult your doctor as soon as possible and get examined and investigated. Meanwhile give him plenty of water and liquids and keep him well hydrated. Ok and take care.
