Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My father in law was previously diagnosed with high blood pressure. He was taking Lisinopril HCTZ...he lost weight, had knee replacement and seemed to be experiencing low blood pressure, 24 hours off med s showed normal blood pressure so doctor said stop taking and monitor. ..for 1 month he has consistently ran 120 to 138 SBP and 75 to 88 DNA except 1 spontaneous increase while experiencing pain in knee with swelling and a spontaneous spike when going to the doctor (suspected white coat syndrome)...he was recently diagnosed with moderately invasive adenocarcinoma in the esoohagus..Monday after test result readings the doctor switched his sleep med from ambient to 30th Temazepam..he is sleeping wonderfully...doctor also prescribed cloned in for rescue...Tuesday he experienced a spontaneous spike in BP 164/ 91 & normalized with Clonidine...this morning he had high blood pressure upon waking 175/ 95 and has struggled normalizing with Clonidine, however after taking 2 Clonidine and monitoring he is back to his baseline...I am perplexed as to the nature of these spikes...please help
After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that check his blood pressure in routine and if it stays more than 140/90 then he has to take medication to keep Blood pressure under control.
Hopefully this information will guide you properly.
Kind Regards Dr Bhanu Partap
