Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Fluctuations In BP Level While Having Hypertension?
I am finding that I can no longer get into the bath tub to relax and warm-up without my B.P. dropping to unsafe levels Recently I fell asleep while in the tub and when I got out after 35 mins. I was terribly weak and my B.P. registered 60\42. I m finding that after I am out my B.P. continues to drop as this A.M. it was 156/94 when I got into the water, 127/82 when I got out and an hr. later it was109/72. My Dr. has been treating me for hypertension with adulate 150/12 and insists I take it OD to control the B.P. but this too drops it far too low. What is my problem and what can I do?
Hello dear Greetings Regarding your experience with gradual drop in your blood pressure following treatment with antihypertensive medication I will suggest that you are gradually developing a condition called bradycardia (decrease heart rate)
In view of this please do the following test ECG and echocardiography to rule out any possible medical conditions
Please schedule an appointment with a cardiologist specialist with the results and for further clinical assessment and adequate drug prescription
I hope this helps Regards
