What Causes Fluctuations In The BP Level Despite Taking Aspirin And Beta Blocker?

I am having rapid alternating blood pressure and pulse. Specifically, My BP will be near normal and my pulse around 110/120......minutes later my BP will be 170/110 and my pulse at 60/70....... When this happens I feel like Im going to pass out if I walk or climb stairs. I do 90 min cardio 5x a week so Im in shape for my age. I only feel like Im going to pass out when this occurs. My face also feels flushed and my upper back tightens up if I push walking or climbing stairs when this irregular rythem occurs. I have had a couple bouts of afib in the past but previous tests have shown it is not constant. I take baby aspirin 2x daily, no prescription blood thinners. I have a history of dialated idiopathic cardiomyopathy, take beta blocker and lisinipril. Past all my tests a few months ago, ejection fraction currently normal. This episode of alternating high/low bp/pulse occurred earlier this year. I don t believe it is afib.....something else is going on. was on halter monitor in the spring with neg results.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Flutuating BP may be common in a person with dilated idiopathic cardiomyopathy. This may be termed postural hypotension.I will suggest you see your Cardiologist for investigation.Test that may help identify cause of your symptoms if not yet done may include: Blood pressure monitoring, ECG, Echocardiogram, Stress test, Valsalva maneuver.
Just see your Cardiologist for evaluation.
Hope this will help
Wish you good health
