Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Fluid Discharge From The Navel And Abdominal Pain?
possible tracheal cyst, was given antibiotics on Sunday, have been taking them since, drainage from belly button 2 days post treatment start date. achy pain in most of stomach now. Diarrhea and vomitting, feeling of exceptional fullness within 3 bites of eating.
Belly button discharge is commonly caused by bacterial or fungal(yeast) infection around navel. It could also be caused by some developmental anomalies like "urachal cyst" (not tracheal cyst as you mentioned!).It is a cyst which occurs in the remnants between the belly button and bladder. No need to worry because it can be cured by prompt antibiotic therapy and surgical excision if necessary. I suggest you to consult a general surgeon and get the following things done: 1.Start a course of antibiotic preferably by intravenous route depending upon severity. 2.Proper drainage and dressing of the area, take a pus culture if necessary. 3.CT scan if needed. 4.If conservative measures fails you may require surgical excision of the nowadays laparoscopic approach is preferred.
Hope I have answered your query. Wishing you good health.
Regards. Dr.Shinas
