What Causes Fluid Discharge When Using Susten Vaginally After Having IUI?
Hello Doctor, I had undergone IUI on 29th october 2012. my doctor had prescribed me Susten vt 200 for vaginal insertion twice a day after this . But i do have fluid discharge(like the medicine is mixed with water) . What does this indicate.? Could it be because i am not inserting the medicine in correct way or is there a chance of pregnancy ?
Susten tablets contain natural micronised progesterone, which helps in implantation and maintenance of pregnancy. Usually some amount of vaginal discharge can be seen during the ovulatory and the second half of the menstrual cycle under the influence of reproductive hormone levels. The tablet also when it is inserted vaginally, after doing its effect it can come out in semisolid form along with some watery discharge.
Hence, there is no need to worry about this and you can continue to insert the tablets as advised by your doctor. However, this discharge itself will not indicate the possibility of pregnancy. To confirm the pregnancy, you have to wait till your expected date of periods and if you miss the period, please go for a preferably blood test for pregnancy or urine test for pregnancy to confirm the possibility.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
