What Causes Fluid Filled Lump On The Labia Minora?
I have a small pea sized fluid filled bump on my labia minora with a small amount of redness on top, possibly from irritation with wiping after urination. Could this be a cyst or abscess? Do I need to take antibiotics? There is no itchiness, it is just tender to the touch.
Hello, Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. I have gone through your query and would like to offer my opinion. The swelling is likely to be a Bartholin cyst with infection, an abscess or a simple cyst. A proper clinical examination is needed to clarify. Urinalysis, swabs from the vagina and cervix, blood counts and tests for STD are essential to detect the cause and plan further management. Avoid any sexual contact until you are healed well. Your sexual partner also needs to get examined and treated if necessary. Antibiotics are needed if infection is detected. Hope this helps.
