What Causes Fluid Movement Sensation In Inner Calf After An Injury?

My wife was in a head on collision three weeks ago. She suffered some pretty serious lower leg bruising from the knee air bags. She is finally able to walk with out crutches, however she has developed almost like a large pocket on her inner calf. It almost feels like its filled with blood or something. It really bothers her when she stands. She says it feels like something almost running into it when she stands. Her physician doesn t seem overly concerned however. Should she seek a second opinion?

Radiologist 's  Response
Hi,

Please discuss with your doctors and get an ultrasound scan or an MRI scan of the leg area to know if there is any fluid collection or muscle injury. Please take a second clinical consultation with a doctor of your choice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Vivek Chail, Radiologist
