Hi & Welcome.
I appreciate your concern for your beloved mother
Tresiba is a long-acting human insulin injection given once daily to help control the blood sugar level of those with diabetes.
Its most common side effects include:
1. Hypoglycemia (
low blood sugar) symptoms of which include headache, dizziness, drowsiness, nervousness, weakness, tremor, nausea, hunger, sweating, and palpitation.
2. Lipodystrophy, loss or abnormal distribution of fat at the injection sites.
3.
Allergic reaction which is less common & usually occurs in the first dose.
Tresiba is unlikely to cause fluid retention or swollen legs.
It appears to due to either inadequate dose of thyroid medicine,
heart failure, kidney diseases or some liver problems.
In view of the above I advise a medical consultation to rule out the above conditions and to identify the cause responsible for ascites and
peripheral edema by certain lab tests such as CBC, liver function tests, kidney function tests,
echocardiography, urine analysis, abdominal ultrasound, etc.
Hope this will help in coming to a diagnosis for accurate treatment.
Wishing your mother a very good health.
