My wife had surgery for stomach cancer in 2013, another one in 2016 for the cancer that had migrated to the and led to the removal of the ovaries and uterus. Now there is evidence of cancer in the gallbladder and a nodule of it in the liver. She has fluid accumulation in the stomach which was tapped 2 weeks ago. Any recourse for her? Although there are multiple causes for excessive fluid in stomach (ascites) but I feel the foreign body reaction to cancer cells is the probable cause for ascites. In some of the textbooks it is known as Meigs syndrome which often arises with benign ovarian tumors.
In other situations it is indicative of wide spread cancer in abdominal cavity.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
