What Causes Fluid Retention In The Thighs After Treating For GI Bleeding?

My husband was release from the hospital because of GI bleeding,they fixed the bleeding and recieved I unit of blood before the colonoscopy and another one after the procedure,he also recieved 3 bags of IV. Fluid ,now 5 days after he was released from the hospital but still having fluid retention in his thigh all the way to his legs and feet his doctor already increase the furosemide med. but it seem like it s still a lot of fluid retention and no changes

Thanks for your query.
Noted your history about your husband having blood transfusion before and after colonoscopy and bags of intravenous fluids. The Doctors fixed the bleeding. After going home and say after 5 days of the discharge he still has fluid retention in the thighs all the way down to the feet and the Doctors have already increased furosemide without changes.
I would think of the following:
Lymphatic edema due to blockage of lymphatics at the inguinal region.
Or another possibilities are anemia, hypoproteinemia, blockage of venous flow at the vena cava level.
I would advise you the following:
Take him to ER and get an emergency Color doppler study of both the limbs and the abdomen.
This will give the probable proper reason to be managed.
