What Causes Flushed Face While On Treatment For Outbreak Of Hives?

I am a 52 yr. old, 124 lb. woman. I broke out in hives on my back and torso. Went to Urgent Care on Friday afternoon. The Dr. diagnosed possible food allergy and prescribed Methylprednisolone. I took 6 pills yesterday, and five today. For the past 6-8 hours my face is flushing uncomfortably. The reaction is unpleasant, but not seem severe enough to go to the ER. Please advise what to do. Thank you, L. Matthews

try to find out the cause of allergy. allergy test can be done. and avoid known allergen which triggers attack. can be given antihistamine like levocetrizine or dexamethasone. these are only available treatment for hives or uticariadoctors generals prescribe anti histamine and dexamethasone.risk of dependency and complication of steroid will be there. tapering is to be done.
