What Causes Fluttering In The Upper Left Abdomen?

i get a fluttering in my upper left abdomen region in the same spot, I think where my pancreas is located, a couple weeks ago I had the same but at that time there was also a pain associated with it that lasted a couple days, this time however the pain was very minute and last only a few minutes. The pain both times went up into my upper left shoulder neck region like a cramp feeling. I think it could be biliary pain maybe due to a blockage of some sorts in my bile ducts but I m not sure

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Pain in upper abdomen left side may be associated with pancreas. It could also be associated with pain radiating to left shoulder. I would advise you to get an ultrasound done to rule out pancreatitis. Gallstones can also be ruled out by an ultrasound however gall stones typically presents with pain in the central upper abdomen or right side of upper abdomen.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
