What Causes Fluttering Sensation In The Chest While On Lamictal And Abilify?
Hi. My name is Jessica. I m a 34 y.o. female with my only medical hx being bipolar type II and idiopathic hypersomnia. I am a smoker of approximately 1ppd for 16 years. I am 5 foot 4 1/2, and weigh approximately 180 pounds. I do not take any illegal drugs or drink alcohol (at all). My medication list consists of the following: Lamictal 100 mg qhs, celexa 40mg daily, adderall 20mg bid, and abilify 20mg qhs. Over the past three days, I have been feeling a fluttering sensation in my chest, accompanied by periods of shortness of breath and dizziness. So I listened to my heart sounds, and I am hearing, what sounds like, trigeminy PVCs, then and approximately three second pause, then a period of just rapid beating, and then back to normal. Any thoughts? ( The episodes last for about 1 to 2 hours each time, but the longest episode lasted about four hours yesterday evening).

hello there, I have gone through your query. The medicines you are taking for your bipolar illness seem to be fine. Now the current complaint which you mentioned like fluttering sensation, shortness of breath and dizziness looks like acute panic attacks. Adderall can be a culprit medicine in this. You better consult your treating psychiatrist and start on anti anxiety pills with some relaxation therapy and also ask for continuation of adderall. This will definitely help.
