What Causes Foam In Mouth Of A Toddler Post Intake Of Albuterol And Pulmicort?
Hello! My toodler just had albuterol and pulmicort about 2:30 hours ago. I put her in the bed to sleep so that I could take a shower and wen I saw her she had foam in her mouth. Could it and effect of the aerosol? She is breathing fine. Could this be seizure? Please help me!
Albuterol and Pulmicort don't cause any foaming or frothing from mouth. The following are few causes of frothing from mouth: 1) Opioid medications overdose 2) Seizures 3) Rabies 4) Ingestion of household cleaning agents, detergents etc.
In your baby's case it could be due to seizure. Please take your baby to a child specialist for thorough clinical examination and ruling out any serious medical conditions.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
