Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
yes i hope it is immediate answer. I have food particals caught in my throat. It has been happening more often but recently it stays there all day everyday. It is usually whatever I have eaten last and I am unable to dislodge with liquid or coughing. It just stays there all day.
Difficulty in passing solid food through throat can be due to narrowing of the esophagus that can be due to different reasons. First to find out if there is any structural change in the esophageal area like strictures endoscopy or X-ray should be done.
I suggest you visit a gastroenterologist, as a physical examination is necessary to get further idea of what kind of tests need to be performed.Depending on the underlying cause further management can be planned by the doctor for relief.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
