What Causes Food To Stuck In Chest Frequently?

Every so often I have a small piece of food get stuck in my chest. I have never been able to burp, or not real man belches... when it happens I usually can force it down with water. This time however I wound up throwing up extremely hard severAL times when finally came out. My aunt said she has had the problem before, had ER knock the food out with a 'scope'...

Thank you for your question and confiding in this platform. Your problem pinpoints to two possibilities. Its something bulging in oesophagus or it could be Hiatal Hernia. But you haven't mentioned if there are regurgitation bouts or some kind of hyper acidity problems, irritation in chest. And since how long you are facing . Has it progressed over time. If its latter can be managed by changing food habits, lifestyle etc and certain simple antacids- ayurveda or allopathy. If its former, we may have to ask you more to exclude any possibility of some kind of protrusion, inflammation (but then there are no other symptoms) or growing tissues.
