What Causes Foot Pain And Swelling In The Knee Post An Injury?

I was doing a wheelie on a bike and flipped back, landing hard on my right foot. It didnt hurt really bad, maybe a 5 out of 10. slight swelling of the knee. in the middle of the night it hurt a lot, then not as bad in the morning. it has been swollen and tender all day and kinda hurts slightly to walk on. Any ideas on what happened ?

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
Hello,

As the mechanism of the injury is suggestive of the ligament sprain there will be pain and swelling in and around the knee joint.

Doing hot water fermentation and bracing will be good. keep the leg elevated over a pillow.

Do simple static quadriceps and static hamstring. This should come down in 2 weeks of time.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
