What Causes Foot Swelling Along With Numbness In The Toes?

Hi Doctor, I have a problem with my right foot. After walking for an hour, two days in a row my foot feels like it just swelled up and my toes feel like they are asleep. This came on about two hours after the walk. This is not the first time it has happened. Hiking and playing racquetball will also bring on these symptoms sometimes. My foot eventually feels better after an hour or two. I have tried icing my foot and taking ibuprofen. Thanks in advance for your advise, Kim

I have gone through your concerns thoroughly ,swelling in legs can be due to many causes...but since you are complaining of swelling in only right foot many diseases due to cardiac and other systemic illnesses are ruled out...from your history I understands that you travel a lot ...prolonged standing and walking can lead to venous disorder of leg... to diagnose the type of bleeding disorders I would have to take a detailed clinical history regarding your age ,sex, job,drug Intake and many other things ...also it requires a detailed clinical tests ...so I would reccomend you to see a surgeon and get a detailed Clinical evaluation done...
