What Causes Foul Odor In Nose?

I have a terrible smell in my nose. No one else can smell it even if they get right up to my nose. It just started today, but it is driving me nuts. I changed my clothes just in case I accidentally got something on them, but it made no difference. I didn't expect it to make a difference because if something had been on my clothes, someone else would have smelled it and the didn't. What could be causing this foul odor?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain foul odour from nose can occur due to a number of causes out of which the most common one is Sinus infection or Sinusitis..
While other causes can be foreign body in the nasal passages causing infection, nasal polyps, upper respiratory tract infection, tonsil stones etc..

You should consult an Otolaryngologist and get a clinical examination done and if needed he can advise you investigations like Nasal endoscopy, x ray of sinuses etc to rule out the exact cause of the bad smell and treat you accordingly..

As of now you can do steam inhalations with a few drops of Eucalyptus oil in boiling water..
You can also do saline nasal irrigations and spray decongestant nasal drops.
