What Causes Foul Odour From Ears After Suffering From An Infection?

my ear usually never has wax, but sometimes it ll itch and the next day if I clean it ill get a big hard chunk of wax. so a month ago I got a cold which cane with an ear infection. I had tons of wax come out, but when the infection went away I feel like all that wax re-hardened making it worse than before. Now I just got a sinus infection and my ear is worse than ever. It had a weird smell, but now the smell is really weird like urine and it s goopy when I actually get wax out. something serious? or just nasty ear that needs to be cleaned professionally?

Hello,

Foul smelling discharge from the ear is likely due to an infection that has refused to go away.

I would advise going to an ear specialist. This will allow them to clean the ears, take some of the fluid and test it in the lab to see what type of infection you have. This will allow you to have targeted treatment.

Get well soon.
