What Causes Foul Smell From The Gums?

Hi, my wisdom tooth is coming through and I've noticed this awful smell when I rub my finger along where the tooth is coming through... I've been paying particular attention to the area when I brush my teeth, however the smell has been around for about a week now. What should I do?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from infection inflammation of pericoronal flap that is a gun flap that surrounds the wisdom tooth..
Aweful smell is due to food debris accumulation in that area and along with it there seems to be infection causing pus formation..
Gradually there can also be pain and swelling..
So consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigation like x ray has to be done..
You can be advised a course of antibiotics and painkillers..
Along with it you should also do warm saline gargle and antiseptic mouthwash gargle..

Hope this helps..

Regards...
